Jozefow Borough is placed between the Middle Roztocze Region and Solska Wilderness. It is famous for its stone workshop traditions and lovely cycling trails.

DID YOU KNOW THAT...

  • the name of the town comes from the name of its founder Tomasz Jozef Zamoyski (Thomas Joseph Zamoyski), who built it in 1725.

  • in the south part of the town there are huge quarries that have been exploited since the 17th century.

  • There is an almost 300- years-old Jewish cementary.

  • Near Jozefow there are so called „Szumy”, small waterfalls on a river in the forest.

  • In the midforest in Florianka settlement there is a horse husbandry of the descendants of Eurasian wild horses.

  • Near Borowina village there is an impressive Jezior peatbog, an example of an overgrowing pond.
