ZAMOSC – THE PEARL OF THE RENAISSANCE

The Town Hall, the Zamoyskis' Palce, many churches and tenement houses... everything looks as if the designer Bernardo Morando finnished his work of art only yesterday. But it has been 400 years since the thirty-year-old Great Crown Hetman Jan Zamoyski decided to build this big as for the XVI century town. Today Zamosc is the greatest example of the renaissance urban thought.
While being in Zamosc you must see the Great Market Place with its characteristic Town Hall tower and hear the bugle-call played in the direction of three cardinal points. Do not miss visiting the collegiate church- one of the most notable examples of classical renessaince architecture, Zamoyski's palace, synagogue , and the star-shaped fortifications.
